Folkard has to settle for silver at Berlin International
Folkard shot 576 for the qualification round (five dozen arrows at a small three-spot face over 18 metres) to rank third behind Lisa Unruh (Germany) and Tatiana Segina (Russia), who both scored 584.
The standard of shooting throughout the head to head matches was superb with Folkard only dropping four points in her first tie against Alina Valentin (Germany) to win in four sets 6-2.

Hide AdSweden’s Johanna Gullroos was dispatched by the same scoreline before two perfect ends from Folkard helped her beat Karina Winter (Germany) 7-3.
The semi-final against Paulina Tyszko (Poland) was much tighter with Folkard shooting a ten to her opponent’s nine in a single arrow shoot-off after the score was tied at 5-5.
However, Veronika Haidn-Tschalova (Germany) proved too strong in a five-set final, winning 6-4 after shooting 143 to Folkard’s 142.
Folkard said: “Although I wanted gold, I am pleased with my silver medal. I shot well in some really tough matches.”
