More than £2,400 was raised and is to be split between St Chad’s Church, the village school and the Parish events group.
Sue White, one of the organisers said: "The Scarecrow makers are the real heroes because without their hard work, we wouldn’t have raised such a fantastic sum of money for our community and given so many people, both young and old, a fun activity to share.
"A huge thanks also goes to everyone who donated on our justgiving page."
Winners of the vote for best Scarecrow were:
First prize: Super Tato
Second prize: ET
Third prize: Freddie Mercury.
Although it is too late to enter the competition, some of the scarecrows will remain on display until Friday (July 24).
