Folk trio Lau head to Leamington
Now they are coming to Leamington - and audiences can expect some new ideas and sounds, says Martin Green of the band, who spoke to the Courier this week.
Thanks, in part, to the collaborative work they have been doing during the year. “In New Zealand, people are chilled out and at the festivals, they are quite sober and healthy, which is great,” says Martin. “We were taken to a Maori village to meet some musicians. We really enjoy collaborating.

And although he would always describe Lau as a folk band, Martin said Lau’s sound has “definitely” changed since last year.
“It’s good to keep focused if we change regularly. The bits of electronic and other things that get used enhance that core.
“We all listen to lots of music in the van when we’re travelling. We’re all very interested in music outside the music we play ourselves. We all have different interests in writing as well so it must all seep in.”
Lau are performing with Haiku Salut at the Spa Centre in Leamington on Tuesday at 7.30pm. Tickets £15. Call 334418 or visit www.royalspacentreandtownhall.co.uk
